AmtsChecker

Find support. Prepare an application.

Which support could apply to me? AmtsChecker helps people find German social benefits and understand the next step towards applying. It focuses on North Rhine-Westphalia and Wuppertal.

Password-protected testing

The application is not yet open to the public. This page introduces the project and its current state.

From personal circumstances to an application

  1. Describe your circumstances. A short form asks about work, housing and children, for example. Every question can be skipped.
  2. Find relevant support. Results distinguish between likely eligibility, missing information and benefits that do not match. They include sources and application routes.
  3. Prepare a letter. The chat can clarify open questions. Draft applications and objections can be reviewed and copied; nothing is sent automatically.

The exceptions matter, too

A structured database connects conditions, exclusions and exceptions. Amounts and eligibility conditions include sources and dates. This makes them easier to check, but does not guarantee eligibility or an error-free assessment.

In six languages

The interface is available in German, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian and English, each with simplified text as well. Arabic reads from right to left. Names of benefits and authorities remain visible in German, too; letters to authorities are drafted in German.

What happens to personal information

Profiles and chat history are stored in the browser for 30 days and can be removed with “Delete everything”. Information is sent for processing when searching or chatting, including to the AI provider in chat. The application does not store profiles or chat history on the server and uses no analytics.

A private project, not a government service

AmtsChecker does not provide legal advice or guarantee eligibility. The responsible authority makes that decision. Testing with the intended users and decisions about model operation and data protection are still required before a public launch.
